We are happy to present our newest publication:

The Open Cut: Mining, Transnational Corporations and Local Populations

The edited volume contains 13 case studies as well as chapters highlighting legal conditions and strategies for action and further research, bringing together more then 20 authors, mostly students and researchers at University of Bern.

The book will be presented on Tuesday May 10th 2016, 7:15 to 9:15pm, at the University of Bern, Main Building (Hochschulstrasse 4, 3012 Bern), Room 028 (in English, free entry).

The event forms part of the IASC (International Association for the Study of the Commons) Regional European Conference.

Our guest is Abdoulmohamine Khamed Attayoub, mayor of Akoubounou, République du Niger, who will talk on the role of transnational companies, resource extraction and the management of the commons in his country (relating to the uranium mines in Arlit, one of the case studies in the book).
