The following working groups of Infoe have been active earlier. The collected materials are largely available in our archive and some contacts are still there. Please write a mail if you want to know more.

WG Biodiversity

WG Amazonas

The Amazonas working group organized two film screenings in january 2005 about fossil fuel and Indigenous Peoples. In summer 2006 in offered a course on fossil fuel extraction in the Amazon at the Institute for Social Anthropology of University of Zurich.

WG Indigenous Peoples and fossil fuels

In 1996/97 Dr. Tobias Haller, founder of  infoe Switzerland, and Danilo Geiger, member of IWGIA Switzerland, carried out a seminar about “Indigenous peoples and fossil fuels” at the Institute for Social Anthropology of University of Zurich. Following this, the extensive study  Fossil Fuels, Oil Companies, and Indigenous Peoples was written, first in German, then translated to English.

WG Campaigns

Infoe was active in the Swiss NGO-coalition about the Abacha money (more) and Swiss pro ILO 169.

WG Water

In summer 2003 the working group on water carried out a seminary with Dr. Esther Leemann about “Indigenous and Water” at the Institute for Social Anthropology of University of Zurich. The seminary theses that came out of this were published in Infoe Magazin (more).
